Wow, what a week. The temps in south Florida were brutal, with highs in the 90’s and index temps after humidity was in the 100’s. Meanwhile my mileage rose to 47 and my times on the non-long runs continues to improve after my short time off.
As many of you know, I stopped listening to music on my runs more than a year ago and have been enjoying my runs much more because of it. The lack of music allowed me to truly get deeply involved with my run. My breathing and foot falls are the best music, along with my own thoughts and ideas. However, with the temps being so high I was really in need of some distraction lately. To accommodate this I have been listening to some podcasts instead of going back to music, and I am lovin’ it.
Some podcasts I have been enjoying: (I encourage you to try them out.)
Adam at Boring Runner or his podcasts at Podbean or iTunes
Ted at You Don’t Have To Run Alone
Kris at Geek Girl Runner

Thanks for the podcast recommendations, I am in desperate need of something for San Fran, I cannot stand the sound of my own wheeze for 26 miles. Nice job getting back in the game, you are definitely getting speedier!! 🙂 Have a great week!!!
Nj heat is brutal too! I hate winter but I wouldnt mind if Mother Nature turned on the AC!
I’ve never been much of a music runner, but I do enjoy it when I remember the MP3 player/radio.
Glad I could be a bit of a distraction. now my wife isn’t the only one that thinks that! 🙂
