Week 48, 2010 training summary

After the completion of the 2010 Space Coast Marathon I felt pretty good.  However, for some reason I was not as hungry as normal and this caused a little drop in my energy as well as my weight.  I got back on track over the weekend, so it shouldn’t take much to get back.  Also, something new after this marathon was a little pain in my hips.  Nothing serious, but I am paying attention none the less and that is why I ran so slow on Sunday.

Well, now it is time to focus on the next goal.  I am excited about running my first 100 mile ultra in February, and all of my training over the next 2.5 months will be toward that.  I will be doing the Iron Horse Endurance Run again, but will shoot for the 100 mile this year.  I am totally pumped to get my mileage up in the 70’s and 80’s, but will be doing it safely with 10% increases.

The temps have dropped a great deal here in Florida, so the extra miles should not be as much of an issue as in the summer when it is 90 degrees.
