THIS was an awesome week. I am still trying to come to grips with the fact that I put in 64 miles this week. Truth is, I felt good up to Saturday and would have sworn I had not run 44 miles. However, after Sundays 20 miler I knew I had run 64 miles. I am still feeling it today, and am thankful for the day off. While it was a good 20 miles, I really had to push.
On Sunday I had something happen that I have not had happen before. My Garmin was dead, and needed to be charged. I was a little surprised because I had been charging it along the way, so I am a little anxious to see what happens next week with it. Fortunately my Android phone with GPS did a wonderful job of tracking my 20 miler with the MapMyRun application. However, the 3 hours using GPS totally wiped out my battery on the phone. It is a good thing that I am able to finish the run in 3 hours, or it would not have tracked the entire run.
As of today, it is only 67 days until the Iron Horse Endurance Run where I will be doing my first 100 mile ultra.
