I felt kind of BLAH this week. Not bad, but not really good either. Toward the end of the week my appetite has started to return, but I am still not enjoying food. (I normally love eating) This could be caused partially from the cold virus I am still fighting to get over 100%. While it is holding ground, I feel better each day.
My feet are still a little sensitive on runs longer than 3 miles, but not extremely, just enough to remind me that I did something a couple weeks ago. I will never wear worn out shoes on a race again…lesson learned. I should have changed them out in time to have a new pair worn in prior to the event.
Also the hip flexors felt a little better toward the end of the week. I am going to start doing more exercise to build them up, as I am tired of them hurting. I also need to work out my lower abs so they don’t bother me on faster runs. Especially since I am planning on doing LOTS of speed work over the coming months.
Originally, after the Iron Horse, I thought I would focus on speed and get more marathons under my belt. But the more I recover, the more I want to get out there and run long miles. I really liked the long mile weeks, and miss them ALOT. Not sure how this will all end. I guess I will need to make up my mind over the next couple of weeks as I finish healing from the race.
